The BURTON jacket W AK BKR EX DWN INS nightshade purple is a women’s snowboard jacket built for deep-winter missions when staying warm matters most. Designed as an expedition-level insulating layer, it delivers high loft warmth with an ultra-light, packable build that works from resort laps to backcountry basecamps.
Outer construction
This jacket uses Pertex® lightweight 20D nylon ripstop fabric for both the outer and lining, with a down-proof, water-repellent coating to help keep the insulation protected and contained. The ripstop weave increases durability in a low-bulk package, so it layers smoothly under a shell or stands alone on cold, dry days. YKK® zippers add dependable function throughout the jacket.
Weather protection
The water-repellent coated Pertex® 20D nylon sheds light snow and moisture, making this jacket well suited to cold, generally dry conditions. Mesh-lined No-Snag Pit Zip™ vents let you dump heat quickly on hikes or warmer laps, so you can fine-tune comfort without stripping layers. A drawcord cinch at the hem helps seal out drafts and blowing snow from below.
Insulation
High-loft 800-fill down runs throughout the jacket for full-body warmth with very little weight or bulk. Full dimensional baffling with a 3D baffle layout keeps the down evenly distributed and significantly reduces cold spots compared to traditional straight baffles. The result is reliable insulation that traps heat efficiently when the temperature drops.
Fit and features
The regular fit offers enough room for layering while maintaining a clean, easy-to-move-in silhouette. A fulltime hood with front adjustment adds extra protection when the wind picks up. Stretch binding at the cuffs and a drawcord hem help seal in warmth and keep the jacket in place. Practical storage comes from zippered handwarmer pockets and a zippered chest pocket, and the jacket packs into its own stuff sack for travel and touring convenience.
